R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Find out what it means to me)

That's exactly what I have for all bloggers, web designers, and graphic design peeps out there. I've been channeling my inner nerd the last few days working on this new look for my blog.  LtL has almost hit the one year mark for posting, sharing, tweaking and learning so I really wanted to give her a fresh, new easy-to-read facelift. I've learned so much (& yet so little) over the last year from other fabulous bloggers who've inspired me to put on my big girl blogger bloomers and add some new bells and whistles to the site.

My most favorite addition to LtL so far are the social media tabs! Check 'em out...aren't they the cutest?? I found a super helpful tutorial from blogger Every Little Polish for step-by-step instructions on how to add these pretty lil' gals onto my blog. She even shared her watercolor design of the social media icons for others to use! (Thanks Every Little Polish!)

Now, all you have to do is click away and it will link you directly to all my social media sites. Whoop! Whoop! NERD ALERT! Have I mentioned this was a really exciting addition for me? I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, but web coding/editing/HTML-ing is not something I am typically familiar with. So after a few tons of hours sitting in front of the computer it finally all came together. Let me tell you, getting those little buggers added to this page was one of my bigger accomplishments of 2o14.

Ok, ok quick your snickering and go check out all my social media sites!

I'd love to hear what you think about the new blog design...hopefully it's 'cleanliness' allows for better reading and navigating.  And if you have any tips for this newbie coder/web designer *er* blogger please share in a comment below.  Over the next few weeks I'll still be working on a few of the graphics for LtL so bare with me through the 'construction phase'.

See you on my other sites and please share with your friends! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Desk-cessories!

"If you build it, they will come." That's my motto for today's post on desk-styling.  My idea is to create a space of calming, creative inspiration with chic styling.  Through fun accessories and functioning storage, your home office can be a place where creativity flows like the glass of wine you poor at night (or day, for that matter).
I'm working on my own 'home office' space right now. I want it to be a place I look forward to spending time and inspires me to conquer my daily endeavors.  Whether that be my next home project, school work, or thinking of the dinner menu (because sometimes that is my creative accomplishment for the day!)
To get some ideas for my new and improved creative corner, I pulled some inspiration from the web, a few of my favorite blogs, and pictures on Pinterest. (To see more of my inspirations, check out my Home Office board on Pinterest.)

Ok, onto my inspirations ...

Well, first let's talk about those framed sections of wallpaper?! If we were proud home owners I'd definitely be incorporating these somewhere! But onto the desk-cessories ... I love the art, pops of a blush-coral color and how feminine the whole look is. I'd probably change that chair up, but I like where their head's at with vintage chair redo-meets modern desk. : )

The Everygirl is a fun blog I read from time to time.  I like how they've styled this desk with style and function. (AKA it looks like you actually do work here) I'm also loving their Anthro coffee mug repurposed as a pen holder ... so cute!

If I actually had a room vs a corner I'd like to utilize some space for storage with shelves like these. I love their use of the wall space in between with an idea board ... fit for many ideas, to-dos, and goals to pursue! The sea foam green, blues and turquoise adds a calming effect that I could definitely do some work in.

This picture is from one of my all-time favorite bloggers, Young House Love.  In their home office, they've taken old cabinets and turned them into storage for a desk! They cut and stained a large piece of wood for the desk top and voila a DIY home office is born! Love the chairs, love the styling, love their blog.

This message board is just an extra long cork board, with fabric and nail head trim! Another great example of functional style at its best.  Great for all your little notes, reminders, and photos of loved ones.  I'll also take that ghost chair ... thanks!

Now this, this here is a go big or go home splash of color and I love it! It's so bright and cheery! It may be a bit too bright for some people's taste or house decor, but I sure am inspired by their 'no fear' color choices.

What styles did you like, or just hate for that matter? : ) I'm hoping to finish my desk re-do for this Friday's Drab to Fab post ... keep y'all 'posted'!

My Favorite Pins

Lately I've been getting some creative inspirations and motivations while perusing through Pinterest. Now, what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't share these exciting finds with y'all?? (Don't answer that.)

So, without further a-due, here are a few of my favorite Pins...

This room tugs on my Traditional style-strings, with monochromatic colors and soft lines...I'm loving the tufted sofa and nesting tables!! I'd definitely add some drama to the walls with curtains, but they had me at tufted couch.

Moving right along to this little number...HELLO LUVA! This is more my Eclectic vibe for sure! The mix of patterns, vintage pieces, generous accessories, and those lacquered walls! Stop it.

Ok, ok...now on to the more 'current reality' of my life's inspirations : )

This dresser is so bright and cheery and could easily find a home in any one of our rooms ... if we only had an extra room.

This credenza is to die for...so dramatic with clean, modern lines. I would love to accessorize it and throw it in my living room! This is a DIY project inspiration for sure!

I'm loving the Greek Key trend right now! This piece would actually be pretty easy to DIY! I'm loving the turquoise with gold framing and pops of orange. I might just have to Greek Key myself for the next project...

I've always been a sucker for the 'old' Hollywood glam with mirrored dressers and side tables. I would love TWO (one feminine and one a bit more masculine) for our bed side tables in the bedroom. (This has been confessions of a shop-a-holic.) This dresser is actually a DIY...and a must-do on my DIY list!

I'm really wanting to get into reupholstering some things...and this sea-foam green Wingback chair is speaking to me, loudly!

 She's fun and easy...a great DIY project : )

I've been obsessing over this chair and fabric for a while now. I love the fuschia and white fabric and how feminine it looks! Maybe somewhere down the road I'll have my own little home office room and can 'chic' it up all I want! ; ) Until then, I'll keep working on my next post of a re-do and styling I'm working on for my office space...

and last but not least, I had to add this pic. It just makes me so happy to look at, with all the place settings, mix of colorful flowers, and outdoor seating! Makes me wanna throw a party...or at least go to a fun one like this!

Hope you enjoyed a few of my favorite things. Now, go check out more of my inspirations and boards in Furniture, Bedroom, Dining, Entertaining, or DIY projects (just to name a few!) : ) @lindsgc1105

Happy Pinning!

Outside Inspiration!

With the weather warming up and the sun beaming high, I'm feeling quite inspired to turn our outside patio into an outdoor oasis...if you build it, I will enjoy it, outside. :)

So in the name of inspiration, I've searched through a few sites and came across these colorful and creative spaces at Better Homes & Garden ...

These two pictures capture the essence of fun and relaxing space all in one. I'm loving the lanterns and mix of colors and patterns.

These colors just make me happy and want to be outside!

I'm loving the colors in that rug and the mix of natural wood in this space

Oh, Southern Living...you had me at Southern.
I might love and be inspired by the access to different cultures & places, but I sure do love my Southern roots :)  There were a few good spreads in this month's issue of outdoor spaces and gardens.  A true inspiration for any decor lover!
