Before and After - TV Console Makeover

In our old home in Atlanta I was really Jones-ing for a low set tv console with clean, modern lines.  I knew I wanted it to be a DIY makeover project, so off to Craigslist I went! I'm slightly CL-obsessed and love scouring the site for a good deal I can bargain for an even better price (low dollas make me holla).

I came across something similar to this, just with an outdated, dark cherry finish with lots of dings and scratches!
(again, beginning stages of DIY-er and no true before picture ... bare with me people, I'm learning) ; )

I did however manage to take a few of these! This was when Geoff was home mid-deployment. 'Welcome home honey, wanna help me with DIY house projects during your limited time home??' :D Such a loving man, that hubby of mine. So we headed out back and got to sanding and priming this little beast.

Doors off (check), hardware removed (check), drink in hand (check check)

We removed the hardware and filled in the holes. Then Geoff helped me drill new holes in the center of each door for my lion head pulls I scored here. Then I added some decorative panels centered on each door to give the piece a little more decorative depth and pattern.

Giving us this final product ...

The lion head pulls are my favorite and the panels were super easy to use!

What do y'all think?? You should check out the My Overlay's website ... they've got so many cute ideas to dress up any piece of furniture! I was able to put this bad boy on CL and make a nice round dollar amount on it! First official Cott Design make over SOLD! Hip, hip, hooray!

Thanks for reading!
